【摘要】:Thedegradationofopticalpropertiesoftransparentplasticsisthesinglegreatestcauseforin-serviceremovalandreplacement.Someopticalqualitiesareinherentinthegeometry,manufacturingprocess,andmaterials,andremainrelativelyunchangedaftermanufacture,whileothersaresubjecttogradualchangeduringexposuretotheserviceenvironment.Factorshavinganinfluenceonthecrazingoftransparentplasticsincludestress,ultraviolet(UV),moisture,andtemperature.Sufficientdatahasbeengeneratedtomakeitevidentthatreal-worldconditioningmustbeexperiencedbydevelopmentaltestspecimens,asopposedtotestingnewunexposedmaterialtodeterminedurability,priortoin-serviceusage.However,thelaboratorysimulationofnaturalweathering,andespeciallyacceleratedsimulation,isimpreciseandcorrelationofresultsobtainedfordifferentplasticsorfromusingdifferentexposureapparatusshouldnotbeattempteduntilavaliddatabasehasbeengeneratedforsuchcross-correlation.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheresistanceoftransparentplasticsexposedtoenvironmentalconditioning(acceleratedweathering)underabiaxialstressstateinducedbyapressurecell/testfixture.1.2Thevaluesstatedinacceptablemetricunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
