【摘要】:Water-insolublematerialspresentinasolventexpectedtobecompletelywatermisciblemayinterferewithmanyusesofthesolvent.Thistestmethodprovidesameasureofthemiscibilityofwater-solublesolventswithapolarmedium-water.Italsoprovidesaqualitativeindicationofthepresenceorabsenceofwater-immisciblecontaminants.Theresultsofthistestmethodmaybeusedinassessingcompliancewithaspecification.Priortoagreeingtothistestmethodasthebasisofaspecificationrequirement,itmaybedesirablethattheinterpretationofwhatconstitutescloudinessorturbiditybeagreeduponbetweenthesupplierandthepurchaser.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthemiscibilityofwater-solublesolventswithwater.Whilewrittenspecificallyfortestingacetone,isopropylalcohol(isopropanol),andmethylalcohol(methanol),themethodissuitablefortestingmostwater-solublesolvents.1.2Thistestmethodservestodetectwater-immisciblecontaminantsqualitatively;thelevelofdetectionoftheseimpuritiesvarieswidelywithboththetypeofsolventandthetypeofimpurity.1.3Thelevelofdetectionofwater-insolublematerialsdependsuponthesolventtestedandthetypeofimpurityorimpuritiespresent,thatisparaffin,olefin,aromatic,highmolecularweightalcohol,orketone,etc.Thereis,therefore,nospecificlevelofimpuritydetectedbythisprocedure.Note18212;Thistestmethodisnormallyperformedatambient,butothertemperaturesmaybeusedasspecifiedbytheconsumerandsupplier.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Forspecifichazardinformationandguidance,consultthesupplier''sMaterialSafetyDataSheetformaterialslistedinthistestmethod.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
