【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationdefinestherequiredpropertiesoflock-stripgasketswhereresistancetosunlight,weathering,flame,oxidation,permanentdeformationunderload,anddiminutionofgrippingpressureareprimeessentials.Note18212;Therequirementofflamepropagationmaybewaivedbythearchitectorprofessionalengineerwhendoingsodoesnotconflictwithlocalcodesorordinances.1.2Thisspecificationappliesonlytothe"locking"compressiontypeofgasket,sometimesreferredtoasthe"zipper"type.Note28212;Structuralintegrityandweather-tightnessofthewallrequiresthesounddesignandinstallationoftheentiresystemofwhichthegasketisonlyonecomponent.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4TestMethodC1166,asreferencedinthisspecification,shouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribethepropertiesofmaterials,products,orassembliesinresponsetoheatandflameundercontrolledlaboratoryconditionsandshouldnotbeusedtodescribeorappraisethefirehazardorfireriskofmaterials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.However,resultsofthistestmaybeusedaselementsofafireriskassessmentwhichtakesintoaccountallofthefactorswhicharepertinenttoanassessmentofthefirehazardofaparticularenduse.1.5Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section7,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.6Thecommitteewithjurisdictionoverthisstandardisnotawareofanycomparablestandardspublishedbyotherorganizations.
