【摘要】:Thispracticeshallbeusedwhenultrasonicinspectionisrequiredbytheorderorspecificationforinspectionpurposeswheretheacceptanceoftheforgingisbasedonlimitationsofthenumber,amplitude,orlocationofdiscontinuities,oracombinationthereof,whichgiverisetoultrasonicindications.Theultrasonicqualitylevelshallbeclearlystatedasorderrequirements.1.1Thispracticecoverstheexaminationproceduresforthecontact,pulse-echoultrasonicexaminationofsteelforgingsbythestraightandangle-beamtechniques.ThestraightbeamtechniquesincludeutilizationoftheDGS(DistanceGain-Size)method.SeeAppendixX3.1.2Thispracticeistobeusedwhenevertheinquiry,contract,order,orspecificationstatesthatforgingsaretobesubjecttoultrasonicexaminationinaccordancewithPracticeA388/A388M.1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.4Thisspecificationandtheapplicablematerialspecificationsareexpressedinbothinch-poundunitsandSIunits.However,unlesstheorderspecifiestheapplicablex201C;Mx201D;specificationdesignation[SIunits],thematerialshallbefurnishedtoinch-poundunits.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
