【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoverstheoxidationstabilityoflubricantsbythin-filmoxygenuptake(TFOUT)CatalystB.Thistestmethodevaluatestheoxidationstabilityofpetroleumproducts,anditwasoriginallydevelopedasascreeningtesttoindicatewhetheragivenre-refinedbasestockcouldbeformulatedforuseasautomotiveengineoil(seeTestMethodD4742).Thetestisrunat160?Cinapressurevesselunderoxygenpressure,andthesamplecontainsametalcatalystpackage,afuelcatalyst,andwatertopartiallysimulateoilconditionsinanoperatingengine.Inaddition,thetestmethodhassincebeenfoundbroadlyusefulasanoxidationtestofpetroleumproducts.Theapplicablerangeoftheinductiontimeisfromafewminutesuptoseveralhundredminutesormore.However,therangeofinductiontimesusedfordevelopingtheprecisionstatementsinthistestmethodwasfrom40to280min.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
