【摘要】:Nickelmetalhydride(Ni-MH)cellscanexhibithighself-dischargerates.Nitrateimpuritiesinthepositiveelectrodecanbereducedtoammoniaonthenegativeelectrode.Thiscausesrapidself-discharge.Technicalpublicationshavereportedalinkbetweentheseparatorammoniatrappingcapabilitiesandthecellschargeretention.Graftedpolyolefinseparatorscanabsorbortraptheseimpuritiesx2014;hence,reducingself-dischargerates.Thelevelofammoniatrappingfromthismethodgivesanindicationoftheefficiencyofaseparatortotrapthesecontaminates,thushelpingabatteryselfdischarge(chargeretention).Ahighervalueshouldprovideacellwithgreaterchargeretention.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementoftheabilityofamaterialtocaptureammonia.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedprimarilyfortestinggraftedpolyolefinmaterialsusedasabatteryseparator,althoughothermaterialscouldbetested.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
