【摘要】:Wearandcorrosioncaninvolveanumberofmechanicalandchemicalprocesses.Thecombinedactionoftheseprocessescanresultinsignificantmutualinteractionbeyondtheindividualcontributionsofmechanicalwearandcorrosion(1-5).3Thisinteractionamongabrasion,rubbing,impactandcorrosioncansignificantlyincreasetotalmateriallossesinaqueousenvironments,thusproducingasynergisticeffect.Reductionofeitherthecorrosionorthewearcomponentofmateriallossmaysignificantlyreducethetotalmaterialloss.Apracticalexamplemaybeastainlesssteelthathasexcellentcorrosionresistanceintheabsenceofmechanicalabrasion,butreadilywearsandcorrodeswhenabrasiveparticlesremoveitscorrosion-resistantpassivefilm.Quantificationofwear/corrosionsynergismcanhelpguidetheusertothebestmeansofloweringoverallmaterialloss.Theproceduresoutlinedinthisguidecannotbeusedforsystemsinwhichanycorrosionproductssuchasoxidesareleftonthesurfaceafteratest,resultinginapossibleweightgain.1.1Thisguideprovidesameansforcomputingtheincreasedwearlossrateattributedtosynergismorinteractionthatmayoccurinasystemwhenbothwearandcorrosionprocessescoexist.Theguideappliestosystemsinliquidsolutionsorslurriesanddoesnotincludeprocessesinagas/solidsystem.1.2Thisguideappliestometallicmaterialsandcanbeusedinagenericsensewithanumberofwear/corrosiontests.ItisnotrestrictedtousewithapprovedASTMtestmethods.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
