【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversgrayironcastingsintendedforgeneralengineeringusewheretensilestrengthisamajorconsideration.Castingsareclassifiedonthebasisofthetensilestrengthoftheironinseparatelycasttestbars.1.1.1Thisspecificationsubordinateschemicalcompositiontotensilestrength.1.2Castingsproducedtothisspecificationaregradedonthebasisofminimumtensilestrengthobtainedinspecialtestcouponsdesignedtostandardizecoolingrate.Thetensilestrengthdevelopedincertaincastingsectionsmayvaryfromtestcouponvalues(seeX1.2).1.3ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.
