【摘要】:Thebasisforthistestasanindicatorofthelongtermbehavioroffiberreinforcedcompositesisthatelevatedtemperatureandmoisturecontentacceleratetheformationoftheproductsofhydrationofthecementinthematrix,particularlycalciumhydroxide.Itisknownthattheinteractionoftheseproductsofhydration,particularlycalciumhydroxide,withthefiberscanhaveamajoreffectonthelong-termpropertiesofthecomposites.Theprincipalmechanismthatoccursisthatthecalciumhydroxideformswithinthebundlesoffilamentsthatformtheglassfiberstrand.Thisgraduallybondsthefilamentstogether,whichreducesfilamentpull-out.Thiscausesareductioninthestraincapacityofthecomposite,therebyreducingthestrengthofthecompositeandchangingthecompositefromaductilematerialtoanincreasinglybrittlematerial.Acceleratingtheformationofthehydrationproductsacceleratestheirinteractionwiththefibers,henceacceleratingtheagingofthecomposite.Thedatadevelopedfromthistestareusedbyresearchersandmanufacturerstoevaluatethelong-termperformanceofdifferentmixtures,reinforcements,mixturecomponents,andtoprovidedataforthedevelopmentofdesignproceduresforproductsmadefromthesecomposites.Therecordeddataalsoprovidesscreeninginformationasnewmatricesandreinforcementsaredeveloped.Theusefulnessofthetestasanindicatoroflongtermcompositeperformanceisvalidiftheonlyreactionsthatareacceleratedarethosethatoccurmoreslowlyundernaturalweathering,hotwatercaninduceeffectsinsomecomposites,forinstancethosecontainingacrylicpolymer,thatmaynotoccurinnaturalweathering.Thistestmethodmaynotbeavalidindicatoroflong-termperformanceofsuchcomposites.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesawayofacceleratingtheagingofglassfiberreinforcedcementitiouscompositesinordertodevelopdatathatwillindicatereal-lifenaturalweatheringperformance.1.2ThecouponspreparedforthistestmethodwillbetestedusingTestMethodC947.1.3Thistestmethodcanbeusedtoagecouponsforothertestmethods.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
