【摘要】:1.1Theserequirementscoverroundorflatmetal-cladcablesthatcontain18AWG–2000kcmilinsulatedcircuitconductorswithorwithoutoneormoreoptical-fibermembers,allenclosedinarmorconsistingofinterlockedmetalstriporasmoothorcorrugatedmetaltube.Roundcablescontainoneormoreinsulatedcircuitconductors.Flatcablecontainstwoorthreeinsulatedcircuitconductors.Theseelectricalandhybridelectrical/optical-fibercablesareforuse(opticalandelectricalfunctionsassociatedinthecaseofahybridcable)asTypeMCcableinaccordancewithArticle330andotherapplicablepartsoftheNationalElectricalCode.1.2Theserequirementscoverroundorflatarmoredcablesthathavethermoplasticorthermosetinsulationandareforuseatpotentialsnotexceeding600V(thermoplastic)or600or2000V(thermoset)wheresubjectedtotemperaturesnotexceeding75°C(167°F)or90°C(194°F),dependinguponthevoltageandtemperatureratingsofthecircuitconductorsinthecable.Cableswith600Vconductorsthatalsoincludeoneormoreoptical-fibermembershave2-OF2supplementingthetypelettersandarelimitedtocarryingopticalenergythathasbeenrulednothazardoustothehumanbody.1.3TypeMV(medium-voltage)cablesratedfor5000–35000Varecoveredinseparaterequirements.Amultiple-conductorTypeMVcablewithasmooth(otherthanlead)orcorrugatedmetalsheathorwithinterlockedmetalarmormaybemarkedforusealsoasTypeMCcable.1.4TheserequirementsdonotcoverTypeACarmoredcables(seetheStandardforArmoredCables,UL4).Metal-cladcablesforuseinDivision1andZone1hazardouslocationsarerequiredtocomplywiththisstandardandtheStandardforMetal-CladCablesandCable-SealingFittingsforUseinHazardous(Classified)Locations,UL2225.1.5Theserequirementsdonotcovertheopticalorotherperformanceofanyoptical-fibermemberorgroupofsuchmembers.See8.3.1.6Acabletowhichthedesignation2ST12(signifying2limitedsmoke2)isappliedasatype-lettersuffix,complieswiththetestcriteriaforsmokereleaseandforcabledamageheightstatedintheStandardforVertical-TrayFire-PropagationandSmoke-ReleaseTestforElectricalandOptical-FiberCables,UL1685.SeeSection30(testrequirement)and38.1(markingrequirement)ofMetal-CladCables,UL1569.1.7DeletedMarch6,2003
